Just wanted to thank the under 9s and parents for today. The first game was a tough / rough one against Wisbech who were physical and a more established team with five previous games before today. It was nice to see that this didn’t dampen the under 9s spirits for the second match against Peterborough. This was a more evenly matched game but I think Bourne was the stronger of the two. It was nice to hear and see everyone wanting to play in this game and it was hard to choose when everyone was asking to stay on and play.

Moving forward, we will be focusing a lot more on tackling and defensive play. Clark and Alex stood out to me today for some really good tackles and pressure play. Offensively, we need to work on crash ball, direct running at the opposition using side steps to evade tackles and passing to teammates. Want to stop players running behind and around their teammates, which puts their teammates out the game and loses valuable ground to the opposition.
